Having full root-level access means that you can access and modify each file on a selected server, in addition to all of the system files, and to change system settings or install server-side software which may be necessary for specific scripts and even offline apps in order to work effectively. A server is accessed at the root level via a root user, who has full privileges to perform all of the aforementioned things. Your root user can also generate various other users. For safety reasons, you are advised to have another account for day-to-day tasks and to use the root account only if you actually need to do a task on your server. The root-level access attribute gives you full control over your server from any kind of location, given that you know the user credentials.

Full Root-level Access in VPS Servers

Our VPS servers come with different levels of access, in order to give you the option to select the one you need, based on your level of experience and on what you need the server for. When you obtain a VPS without any Control Panel, you'll have full root-level access and you can control everything using a console, unless you install some third-party tool. The servers that are ordered with the DirectAdmin or the cPanel hosting Control Panel also feature full root access, but most of the things that are related to your world-wide web content can be performed with a graphical interface and not a console. You will be able to set up various different frameworks or media streaming software, for example, without any problems. If you order your virtual server with the Hepsia Control Panel, you can still use a Secure Shell console to connect, but the root access is reduced. Yet, the Hepsia-equipped servers are the easiest to manage.

Full Root-level Access in Dedicated Servers

You'll have full root-level access to your dedicated server no matter which plan you pick throughout the registration process, as long as the server is provided with cPanel or DirectAdmin, or without website hosting Control Panel at all. In all of these three cases, you're able to change any part of the software environment in any way you find fit, that makes our server plans perfect for resource-demanding apps with specific requirements that can't be covered if you use a shared website hosting account. The difference between these options is that with cPanel or DirectAdmin, you will have a web-based graphical interface to manage numerous server-side options and also any web content that you generate or upload, while if you order the server devoid of Control Panel, you'll have to perform everything through a Secure Shell console or to install a Control Panel of your own liking, if it is compatible with the Operating System that you've chosen throughout the registration process. With the final Control Panel option that you are able to select on our order page - Hepsia, the root access is limited.
