Memcached in Shared Website Hosting
If you host script-based websites in a shared website hosting account with our company, you’ll be able to add the Memcached object caching system to your web hosting package with only a couple of mouse clicks via your Hepsia Control Panel. The upgrade will be available momentarily and, since the necessary extension is already installed on our innovative cloud web hosting platform, you can start using it right away. To give you more flexibility, we offer two separate upgrades related to the number of instances (i.e. how many sites will use Memcached) and to the amount of system memory that the Memcached caching system will use. The latter is available in increments of 16 megabytes and you can order memory as many times as you want. Naturally, the more memory the Memcached caching system is allowed to use, the more data it will cache, so if you own a large-scale site with lots of data, you may need more memory to be able to make the most of the power that Memcached can give you.
Memcached in Semi-dedicated Servers
You can get the Memcached content caching system as an upgrade with each of our semi-dedicated servers and since it works with any script-based software app, you can use it for each site that you host on our platform, regardless of what application you have used – Joomla™, WordPress or Mambo, a custom-developed one, etc. You can order the upgrade through the corresponding section of the Hepsia Control Panel from which you administer your semi-dedicated account, and you can choose two different things – the instances and the amount of memory that they will use. To put it in simple terms, these things show the number of the websites that will use Memcached and the amount of memory that the system will be able to use in order to store your information. The two features are offered independently for more flexibility and one instance does not come with a fixed amount of memory. You can use the Memcached system with any type of website and both you and your website visitors will swiftly perceive the difference in the performance.
Memcached in VPS Servers
You will get Memcached with any of the VPS server packages that we are offering if you pick Hepsia as your hosting Control Panel and you will be able to activate the platform via the Control Panel section with the exact same name. The setup takes several mouse clicks and you’ll notice the difference in the performance of your websites almost instantly. The amount of memory that Memcached can use to cache data depends on the given Virtual Private Server plan that you have chosen, but in any case it will be at least several hundred MB, which is quite enough even for multiple traffic-heavy Internet sites. You can use the Memcached platform with websites based on Joomla™, WordPress or any other web-based app and reduce the load on your VPS server, which will allow you to keep using the current Virtual Private Server hosting package rather than migrating to a more powerful one, as you will simply not need it. Memcached is already being used by popular websites such as Zynga, Wikipedia and Reddit, which confirms its effectiveness.
Memcached in Dedicated Servers
If you buy any of our dedicated servers and if you pick Hepsia as your hosting Control Panel at signup, you’ll get the Memcached memory caching platform by default and you can activate it for any website that you host on the dedicated machine without upgrading or installing anything. It will start caching data as users access your site, so you will see the result of using it soon after that. The minimum amount of system memory that will be available to the Memcached platform is 3 GB and normally, the more powerful the package, the more memory Memcached will have at its disposal. This amount will enable you to use the caching platform for a lot of websites or for a very heavy Internet site without compromising its efficacy. Memcached will permit you to improve the load speed of any database-driven site in no time – a Joomla™ portal, a WordPress personal journal, an OpenCart e-store, etc., and to improve the overall performance of your dedicated server.
